Last Sunday one of my new roommates came back from Belgium with the repaired motor of our boat. After we installed and tested the motor on Monday I thought by myself to take a ride on the canals of Amsterdam. Yesterday, after work, I took the boat and shipped to the Anne Frank House to pick up my business partner and his girl friend. To act environmentally friendly I decide to cut of the power of the motor as long as I stopped to wait for my two guests. After they arrived I started the motor holding an electricity cable to the ignition plug. Just when I bend ahead I heard a ‘FLASH’. My first thought was F?!@K$%!!! .
Because some of the canals of Amsterdam are more than 2 meters deep and an iPhone can survive in water for at least 0.5 seconds the chances to rescue my iPhone were zero. Well, I never thought that such *** would happen to me because I’m extremely careful with my goods. Well, now I know better. At least the motor and the lightning of the boat worked. So I arrives at home at approximately 22:30 o’clock after passing two police boats without getting any further trouble. (Since this year a boat has to be equipped with a white light that is visible 360°. Our boat only as a white light on the back and a green and a red light on both sides.)
