Two days ago I moved to my new room on a house boat next to the Amstel. It’s a two storied boat which I share with three other guys. Three of us (including me) are living in the basement. That means that I sleep approximately 1.5 meter below the water line. On the first floor we have a room which is a combination of kitchen, dining room and living room. Furthermore we have a little terrace which we will fill with sand next week. Well, than we’ll have out personal beach next to the Amstel.
Beside the brilliant location and interior the house boat also contain a small boat. Today I’ll clean the boat together with one of my room mates. At present the motor of the boat has to be repaired and is therefore in Belgium. We aspect the motor to be back next weekend. Well, and if it is fixed we can enjoy the waterways of Amsterdam with our own boat.
Yesterday I already got a good impression about how it is to go on a boat ride in the town canals of Amsterdam. Friends of mine picked me up at the Central Station. Then we stay on the water the hole day. During midday we rode to my new place. It was awesome to get home by boat.
