I just arrived at home from my daily sail trip. Today we had nearly no wind in Amsterdam. Therefore I thought these must be the perfect weather conditions for me as starter. I had to know it better. How could I forget what my sister told me a few years ago? She works as a snowboard instructor. And she told me that she sends all starter not to the lazy idiot course but well to the blue course. I asked her if she didn’t aspect to much from her beginners. She told me: “They’ll learn it better under real conditions.”
OK, now back to my story. I tried to sail with nearly no wind. “What?!?” should you might ask. And you’re absolutely right. The only highlight I got today was my new wet suite from O’Neil that I bought in the city. And I really love my new wet suite. It fits perfect and keeps me warm. Well, and for me as starter this is one of the most important if not the most important equipment of my boat. Because I’m starter it seams like I’m more within the water than within my boat.
