According to the Dutch Apple website the iPad the new iPad is available from today on. I was just surfing around for looking how I can spend my earned money while I read the following lines: “A magical and revolutionary product at an unbelievable price. Coming April 3.” Well, and if I’m not wrong, today we have April, 3.
The first time I heard about the iPad I thought “Woh, that’s amazing!”. Now, that I own an iPhone since one week my view on the iPod significantly changed. First I thought the iPad is similar to a laptop. Now I believe that the iPad is more similar to an iPhone. OK, it has a bigger screen. But am I be able to plug a keyboard as well as a mouse. For sure, it might be a fantastic tool to show your custom the latest designs of his website. But what about editing some controllers, models or views on the fly? Evens if you’ll be able to use the touch screen keyboard I’m not sure if I (personally) can program that proper without the response of my keys. (You know … I mean when I pressed them and the remove back to their base position by producing a typical noise. ^^) Well, you can call me old school in that case. But it’s all about the felling, isn’t it? Maybe I have to go to the iCenter or the MacHouse the following days to test the iPad by myself.
Don’t buy it! Or at least look at the Alternatives, that will be available during this year. They will be cheaper and not full of DRM-Stuff that only allows you to install Apps from Apple but free Software as well. (Yeah thats right, no free software on the iPad)
Right now my favorite is: http://www.wepad.mobi/
